For coffee lovers like us, there is nothing better than the aroma of freshly ground coffee first thing in the morning. Whilst we can’t resist a nice cup of English tea, the allure of coffee is stronger than ever, especially for those amongst up looking for a pick-me-up during busy days.
Over 95 million cups of coffee are consumed each day in the UK, with cafe culture booming. Historically, 80% of UK households buy instant coffee, especially older generations. Millennials and younger generations are increasingly following our European friends in drinking ground coffee. Over the past couple of decades as more British tourists visit countries like Italy and France, they have noticed a considerable increase in the quality of coffee and when they get home they are looking to continue to enjoy that standard.
In researching for our new lifestyle column, we discovered this stylish espresso maker by VonShef. For those not wishing to invest in an expensive or large ground coffee machine, this is the ideal alternative. Affectionately known in Italy as a ‘Moka pot’, you simply heat this on a stove/hob (on low heat) and within minutes you have that familiar aroma piping through your home.
We chose Lavazza ground coffee and the results were delicious, just like our favourites at the local coffee shop. We tried out black espressos plus by mixing half with warm milk and sugar for a lighter taste. The polished stainless steel pot is not just stylish but also premium quality with a heat resistant handle, 14cm base and comes with four 100ml glass demitasse cups, equally as chic.
The VonShef is convenient not only for your home but for keeping in the kitchen at work and even for camping. Show off to your friends over a chin-wag and save a tidy sum on your coffee shop trips. Find out more HERE.
“Operating the espresso maker couldn’t be easier – simply add water and coffee grounds to the appliance, place on your stovetop and heat.”
